Children's Taekwon-Do ProgramMartial arts instruction offers innumerable benefits for children of all ages, including improved physical health, self-esteem, confidence, concentration, and self-discipline. As a community of martial arts students, we frequently arrange group events such as parties, outings, and trips. These events -- including holiday parties, ski trips, paintball tournaments, and children's lock-ins -- are a great way to meet and get to know your fellow students as well as the instructors. Additionally, tournaments and training camps are held several times a year, and we encourage all our students to attend these events whenever possible. Physical FitnessIn addition to its practical applications as system of self-defense, Taekwon-Do is one of the best ways to improve all-around health and fitness. Children who are active in other sports often benefit from the improved stamina, better coordination, and faster reflexes that they develop while studying Taekwon-Do. Self-Esteem & ConfidenceBoth self-esteem and self-confidence are developed by setting goals for oneself, then succeeding in reaching those goals. No other activity encourages the development of these traits better than martial arts. From the very beginning, children in our program are taught about goal-setting and leadership, promoting the confidence that gives children courage to say "no" in the face of peer pressure. Concentration & Self-DisciplineBy encouraging children to work towards specific goals, martial arts helps children learn to focus individual tasks. Numerous studies have shown that children studying martial arts enjoy improved concentration and self-discipline. This, in turn, often leads towards increased success in almost every area of life, including school, college, and work. |
